Vaswati is the Creative Director for The White Mulberry. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Delhi University, a Diploma in Textile Design from The Delhi Polytechnic, and a Graduate Certification in Surface Design from the California School of Professional Fabric Design in Berkeley, California.
“I cannot remember a time when I have not used some medium around me to interpret what I see, feel, and think. The garden, the kitchen, the home, and the drawing board have had equal attention as my canvas. Life and living have been my motivation and my inspiration; My community keeps it real.
The White Mulberry ethos is something I truly believe in — gifts are intended to touch a person’s life in some way. Receiving a gift becomes truly meaningful when one is made aware of its origin, the maker’s narrative, and the direct value it adds to the community. It creates a unique, healthy, and transparent
ecosystem between the giver, maker, and the recipient. Being the creative lead in this venture and keeping my focus on both the macro and the micro, I
have to remind myself that ‘perfection’ is elusive. We have to do our best today.”
